After distributing 1,500 pairs of shoes and 250 bags in Mentawai, West Sumatra, PT Astra International Tbk re-allot 1,500 shoes and 250 bags for children at 14 schools Tolitoli region, Central Sulawesi.
Distribution of bags and shoes is the result of conversion of gratitude to the teachers through #generAKSICERDASIndonesia movement campaigns in social media.
#generAKSICERDASIndonesia Movement initiated by Astra International in Indonesia in May 2015 to invite the community to thank the unsung heroes who have fought for education.
Acknowledgements collected through social media with menggunggah greeting in the form of photos, videos, or other format followed by the pound sign (hashtag) #generAKSICERDASIndonesia.
The result, have been collected along with the hashtag 7958 thanks from May to July 2015 which was then converted by Astra into 7958 shoes and bags for Indonesian children who are at the forefront, namely Mentawai, Tolitoli, Morotai, and the Aru Islands.
14 Schools in Tolitoli
Astra today, Wednesday (20/01/2015) donated 1,500 pairs of shoes and the bag 250 to pupils in 14 schools in Tolitoli consisting of two Islamic schools, 10 public elementary schools and two junior high schools. Submission of shoes and bags symbolically held at SDN 4 Bajugan, Hamlet Ogomoinit, Tolitoli. On this occasion, Astra also donated two laptops and two infocus.
Submission of shoes and bags was attended by Assistant II Regent Tolitoli Sector Economic Development and Welfare (Sekdakab Tolitoli) Nur Muhammad Munawar and Head of Environment and Social Responsibility PT Astra International Tbk Riza Deliansyah and a number of heads of the branch companies of Astra Group. Today’s event was also attended by officials of the local area.
“We are grateful for the help of Astra in pendidikam for elementary school children disadvantaged category. I told my children in order to maintain and utilize this aid as well as possible,” said Munawar.
